Antonov, An-2

Rumors say the prototype was built during WW2 with the use of other aircrafts’ spare parts. Young and small Antonov’s firm used it to carry their equipment during evacuation. Well, easy to believe :) Built in thousands and still flies in the airspace of many countries of the World …and no talks of retirement!

A milestone of Soviet commercial aviation. Alike Tu-104 in mid-1950’s this small airplane contributed greatly to the growth of Russian civil aviation in 1930’s.
